WBL · Independent software studio

Software built
like a bridge.
Few parts. Strong joints.
Made to last.

White Bridge Labs is a small, independent software studio. We build native apps the way we want to use them — reliable, snappy, beautiful, with no rough edges and no tradeoffs. Most days we're shipping Cantrip; some days, something new with a careful partner.

White Bridge Labs is a small, independent software studio. We build the apps we wanted to use ourselves — always reliable, always snappy, always beautiful. Premium user experience, no tradeoffs.

We take our name from the truss bridge — a structure that earns its strength from the simplicity of its parts. We try to build software the same way: a few ideas, locked into the right shape, carrying the load without complaint. Most of what we make is for ourselves first, and shared once it earns the right.

— Founded 2022

Three movements, repeated until the software stops asking for our attention.

I — Sketch

Cheap prototypes,
then expensive code.

We try the awkward version first. The first build is throwaway by design; the second one knows where the joints actually go.

II — Ship

One screen
you can't live without.

Initial releases are deliberately narrow. Better to have one screen that feels irreplaceable than five that feel acceptable.

III — Maintain

Sand the edges.
Answer the email.

Software is finished when it stops needing us. Until then, we sand the edges, fix the squeaks, and reply to the support email ourselves.
